Also named, based in another state

AI assistants named these companies too, but MacRAE'S lists them in a different state, not Illinois. They belong to that state's ranking, not this one.

Named, but placed in another state

The AI answers themselves put these companies in a different state, so they were not counted for Illinois. Whether MacRAE'S lists them elsewhere is not yet known.

The five questions we asked

Every company in this cell is measured on the same questions, written the way a buyer would type them. That is what makes the ranking a comparison rather than a collection of anecdotes.

  1. 1“Best suppliers of pipe and tube fittings in Illinois”
  2. 2“Who supplies stainless steel sanitary tri-clamp fittings in Illinois”
  3. 3“I need a Illinois pipe and tube fittings partner for a high-pressure chemical process line installation, who should I talk to”
  4. 4“Top pipe and tube fittings suppliers in Illinois for industrial maintenance buyers”
  5. 5“Which Illinois pipe and tube fittings distributors can handle large-diameter, high-pressure alloy specifications”
  6. 6“List 20 pipe and tube fittings companies in Illinois with their specialties.”the roster question

Each question is asked more than once, which is why a company's score is out of 15 answers rather than out of the number of questions.
